We collect information you provide directly: account registration details (name, email, password), resume and CV files, profile information (work history, education, skills), job preferences, and communications with us.

We automatically collect usage data: pages visited, features used, device and browser information, IP address, and cookie data. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to: provide and improve our services, match you with relevant job opportunities, analyze your resume and provide ATS scores, send transactional emails (account updates, job alerts), personalize your experience, and comply with legal obligations.

We will never use your resume data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

3. Data Sharing

We share data with: employers only when you apply for a specific job or opt in to being discovered; service providers who help operate our platform (hosting, analytics, email) under strict data processing agreements; and as required by law.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to marketers or data brokers.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how our platform is used. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time via your browser settings or our cookie preference center.

We do not use advertising tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which permanently deletes all personal data within 30 days. Resume files are deleted immediately upon your request.

Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), export your data in a portable format, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time.

7. Security

We protect your data with: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive data, regular security audits, and access controls limiting who can see your data.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when available.

8. International Transfers

JobLook is operated from India. If you use our service from the EEA or UK, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws. We ensure adequate safeguards are in place through standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

9. Children

JobLook is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of JobLook after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
